These safaris are for people with a reasonable level of fitness. Guests are transferred to a base camp by road/boat/light aircraft. From there walking safaris are conducted by armed, professional guides, who carry a first aid kit and maintains radio communication with base.. Accommodations are in luxury tented camps.

Two thirds of Matusadona National Park in the middle Zambezi Valley is largely untouched wilderness and the remoteness and sense of freedom make Matusadona an exciting African adventure. There is an abundance of wildlife with large populations of buffalo, elephant and a semi-resident pride of lions in the area. The camp is located inside the Park in wild, remote bushland with maximum accommodation for ten guests in five twin-bedded luxury tents with en suite facilities.

The safari trail starts at Fothergill Island with a wilderness drive in a four-wheel drive vehicle through the Matusadona Mountains to the base camp. The rest of the safari will emphasize walking with limited driving. You will walk approximately three hours at a time, accompanied by an armed, professional guide, who will lead you through beautiful savanna woodlands and remote areas inaccessible by vehicle. Many species of big game are likely to be encountered in this area. These include the endangered black rhino and the rare roan antelope. These walking safaris are adventurous as well as informative on the surrounding fauna and flora on the trail. A reasonable level of fitness is required, as the safari orientates itself around walking in fairly broken terrain.
