According to Wikipedia, fertility is the natural capability to produce offspring. It sounds so basic yet so hard to achieve when you belong to the 1 in 8 couples that have fertility issues (based on a survey from CDC).
So how much do we really know how to increase fertility naturally? Here are some facts that might surprise you.
Sexual positions don’t affect the chance of conceiving
There has been no study to confirm this. There are no positions which can clearly say that it is more effective to get pregnant. The idea that you should stand on your head just after ejaculation is not true too. Just lying around for a few minutes should just be fine to keep the sperm inside and not drip.
Men have time limit too
Back then the age of the woman is the basis for pregnancy. Most people don’t take into factor a man’s age. Unfortunately for men, this has been studied and proven that age for both partners is crucial. The study composed of 8,500 couples showed that the number of men that fails to impregnate their partner increases at the age after 35. Ladies can now rest easy knowing that it is not entirely up to their age. Men now have their own expiration date.
Ovulation day is not the best day
According to American Infertility Association, 20% of aspiring parents are not timing their intercourse correctly. Woman’s fertility last up to 6 days. The ovulation day is when the egg is released from the ovary which occurs on the last day. The highest chance of success is two days before ovulation day based on a study made by the National Institute of Environmental Sciences.
Heat generated by briefs
A common belief that wearing brief causes scrotal temperature to increase which means sperm count is affected. It is true that high temperature is bad for the sperm but the heat generated from briefs is not enough to affect the sperm production.
