Safari Game Drive through South Africa’s Kruger National Park
The first explorers to push into the wilderness areas of what is now South Africa were often turned back by local tribe and it wasn-t until the 1830s that forward outposts were established. Soon after, hoards of Europeans came for the rumors of gold, ivory and skins and farmers sought the rich soils. There was a mass destruction of wildlife by the fortune seeking hunters and President Paul Kruger pleaded with the parliament to establish a game reserve in the lowveld to protect the threatened species.Confused?
